The Washington DC Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMIWDC) was formed to serve the networking and education needs of Washington DC metropolitan area residents, which includes Northern Virginia and Maryland.
With monthly meetings, professional development offerings (such as certification review courses), periodic workshops, and a monthly newsletter, the PMIWDC chapter strives to promote the profession of Project Management by and for its members, provide opportunities for project management education and the professional development of its members, and provide a framework for professional networking and social interaction among its members.

National Blacks In Government
Blacks In Government (BIG) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 employee support and advocacy, training and education professional development association that executes a preeminentAnnual National Training Conference (NTC). BIG is a recognized industry leader in providing civil servants low cost/high benefit, quality, real-time, and progressive training that enhances their Individual Training and Development Plans. Blacks In Government functions as an employee support and advocacy organization. With more than 200 chapters throughout the United States and abroad, BIG seeks to represent more than 3.5 million public employees.
BIG is the only organization solely dedicated to the interests of African-American civil servants.

The National Black MBA Association, Inc. (NBMBAA) Washington, D.C. Chapter
(NBMBAA-DC), which consists of over 500 African American professionals, is one of the largest and most active chapters. During the year, the Chapter provides a broad range of activities to meet the diverse needs of its membership and the greater Washington community. Events include: the annual scholarship and awards banquet, guest lecture series, professional development seminars, networking activities, corporate receptions, and numerous student development and scholarship programs.
